Guy fierrie knows what he is. He doesnt pretend to be a chef that cooks "authentic" food. He just likes what tastes good, and I can respect that authenticity.
Can you respect the cringey hipsterism and in your face over the top American Dude-bro vibe? Because, I... I can't.
@@anarchy_79 bruh its just wwe shit dude is playing a character some will hate him some will love him but guesswhat his name is in ya mouth cha ching
@@anarchy_79 Are you saying Guy Fieri is...a hipster? Really?
Iβm not sure he like what tastes good. He likes what tastes good to him.
Guy Deserves an oscar for that acting job you could tell he absolutely hated it
For real dude, that looks bad than my lifeπ
So he doesn't deserve one.
He came around my town and all us locals were laughing about the fact he chose the literal worst restaurants around ya know those ones that rebrand themselves every 15 yrs ππ he chose like 1 decent restaurant

Aunty liz is the perfect roast partner for uncle Roger, damn she even throws her subtle punches. I love their combo never disappoints
more books for her to steal
Liz and Roger like to joke together, and they also did 1-2 roasting of βrice battleβ contestants.
Auntie Liz is always a pleasure to see, and she seems so comfortable dishing out insults and jokes. Love it.
Surprised sheβs still here after the cookbook fiasco
β@@luxmundiofficialsame, what happened with that? Did she apologize or something?
What happened?
@@johelrivera5654 I donβt think so, her book was just taken out of circulation and she was dropped by her publisher. I was shocked as I had had her food before at Pidgin in London, and I also come from a restaurant background (my family owns Californiaβs oldest Mexican restaurant. To be honest, you canβt mess with legacy in this business. Do you know how much effing trouble weβd be in if we had a cookbook and just copy and pasted recipes in it to pass them off as my great-grandmothers? To be fair, cheese burger fried rice sounds like something I'd eat when I'm high AF. π
Im high af rn and yes I would destroy multiple servings of this cheese burger fried rice on the spot
Ya know what? I'll have a cheese burger fried rice but without the cheese and surely there's a chinese way to use ground beef in a stir fry. I'm hijacking this dish into ground beef stir fry.

"Is all that sauce to mask the flavor of the bland food" she has such a good understanding of American cooking

i love auntie liz and the chemistry between her and uncle rodger.
i wouldnt make an abomination like this cheeseburger fried rice even if i was high and hungry at 3am.
often i just throw stuff in and use what i have in the fridge but this is too much tbh.
I love how Guy is IMMEDIATELY concerned that its not gonna be recognizable as fried rice. Even HES not down with this
He may not be down with somethings at first, but after trying it, he changes his opinion.
@@TheMrCC21 Its a show where they are trying to boost small businesses. He isn't going to say, your star dish is trash.
β@@Ahglockhe should
Right? If Guy Fieri is concerned, you might want to reconsider your choices.
@@TheMrCC21 I mean, that's the job, right? It's also a good lesson to try foods instead of rejecting something outright. Unless it's Jamie Oliver making any sort of Asian food. Chinese, Middle Eastern, Thai, Uzbek... doesn't matter. Reject away.
I think the New Orleans take on Chinese food is what's making Uncle Roger break out in flop sweats the whole time. Auntie Liz looks cool as a cucumber, and poor Uncle Roger is just melting π
I like this episode- Uncle Roger and Auntie Liz are a great team.
The dish is so weird. I can't imagine getting my Wendy's from Panda Express
Cheeseburger fried rice is proof that just because you CAN do something does not mean you SHOULD.
Cheeseburger fried rice is the result of some students nursing a hangover and seeing what's left in the fridge to eat. Then the stoner of the group says "Brooo, you could sell that in a restaurant!"
Auntie Liz's jokes are savage! and her food is pretty awesome, had a great time at Mei Mei (fantastic chicken rice!)
come to Singapore! everything's better at the origin!
I must say, I have seen this video so many times now, not only because Uncle Roger and Liz are fun together, but this Fieri guy is definitely chrismatic, and because this dish is so delightfully weird. Good stuff.
(That doesn't mean I would want to try it, though...)

Guy always goes back for seconds, I've seen him eat several full meals in one sitting because the food was so good... He took two bites of that mess and was out. Anyone who's ever seen more than two episodes of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, knows that was Guys way of telling us to avoid that restaurant at all cost π lol
Lol ikr, he literally backed away from the food after taking two bites π

β@@shawnvofficial jaboody is hysterical π
@@RobSchellinger I have seen him do that to, but usually on his other shows. Maybe he thought there was no saving that dish. Honestly I thought the dish had promise, I like some weird Asian fusion, and I know Uncle Roger can be a little critical. But they put so much ketchup in there, and table sugar, then drowned it in condiments. Plus he put what looked like shredded iceberg lettuce in the wok, that had to have been slimy mush by time it hit the plate. They could've at least used romaine, or even better shredded cabbage. But we all have different taste, so who am I say it isn't appetizing?
I'd actually love a follow up video trying the cheeseburger fried rice lmao

Hi Uncle Roger!
** I want to tell you that AI works!
** I saw you with Cowboy Kent Rollins cooking fried rice. I had never herd of you but thought the two of you were very funny. Then KRclip presented me another chance to see you. You are fun to watch, will be watching to see if you are a real cook or just a comic cook.
By the way, I am an old retired guy from the USA with too much time.
I just recently bought a wok at Walmart and have tried cooking several fried rice. On one of my attempts I used a little ground Italian Sausage, eggs, vegetables and left over long grain Jasmine rice. It was good, and I tried Oyster sauce for the first time with it and really liked it.
Guy Fieri doesnβt have the heart to lambast dishes, but he gives us enough subtext to know when things are subpar. The locals love it and he understands that so he keeps thingβs respectful. There are plenty of chefs with tv shows trashing bad restaurants so he remains a force for good
Yeah, he never says anything bad about any of these places. You don't want to roll into a dive and say their food is crap. It's a dive. It's notable if the food is good. He's just showcasing some smaller places that have character (and possibly good food).
That sounds like a very very bad thing tbh. who the hell wants to be told that a crappy place is awesome and worth visiting, instead of the letdown it really is
@@madtonesbr he goes to places the locals rep and wants to preserve that local color. I know texans like whataburger even though itβs the worst burger Iβve had personally, but for the uninitiated itβs still an experience worth trying since itβs that that city or region has. Taste is also subjective so he knows he isnβt gonna enjoy everything and doesnβt let that stop others from at least giving it a try
I've heard producers say there's Guy Fieri speak for bad food and if he only takes one bite he doesn't like it
@@chuckpalmenta2109 perhaps he wants to acknowledge that the local folks seem to like it, so he tries it outta respect and thinks some of his viewers might have different taste because he is a food network chef, so his standards will be up there. Then again his restaurant Johnny Garlics gets crucified by reviews online
After watching this video, I want to eat the real fried rice right away.π
I mean I would love to see Uncle Roger giving his opinions on restaurants and not just videos on the internet.
I don't think I want to try that cheeseburger concoction. It would be fun to see Uncle Roger go there and try it though. LOL
I did visit Auntie Liz restaurant. Last time I was in London, I visited Borough Market south of River Thames and found Mei Mei. The Hainanese Chicken rice was fantastic. I got to visit the Hawker Stands in Singapore shortly after that. Nigel and Liz, thank you for all your recommendations.

I generally want to see you react to a proper taste test to this!
It's not that they tried something different...it's that NO ONE could accurately even EXPLAIN what the dish actually tasted likeβοΈβ¨οΈπ
I agree. After looking at this again, I don't think Guy Fieri liked it either but he loves promoting small businesses. He said the flavors "sync" ... what does that mean? He commented on the atmosphere, not the food at the end.
TBH is is more of a cheeseburger dirty rice than a fried rice. Dirty rice is a Louisiana thing, a way to use up leftover ground meat & veg.
To me the idea sounds good but looks way too damn wet
It looks like it was doing well. Most people rated it high and praised the taste.
Its just a bacon cheeseburger without the bun ground up with white rice.

Auntie Liz saying βSorry childrenβ is perfection.
They act like siblings. Through all the insults, hate and anger, you can feel the love.
Once it opens up, you should check out the place. Red's Chinese is for people who love Chinese food but want to enjoy an American twist on it. To many people with Asian Ancestry, this is not the dish many people were expecting. You and Auntie Hellen have never expected that dish either.
Auntie Liz is totally gonna steal some of Guy Fieriβs recipes now π

Always good to see Auntie Liz. Uncle Roger is dripping with sweat and Auntie Liz looks so cool, calm, and collected that it reminds me of something I was told as a kid: "Men sweat. Women glow." π

As much as people make fun of Guy Fieri for being fake or over the top, apparently heβs really like this and is a really nice guy.
His only crime... is following his life's passion. Seriously, that guy is so much more wholesome than people give him credit for.
If you've been following him for long enough, you've found out some other things.
He came to a restaurant in Portland and I spoke to the waitress who worked there later on, since I found out about the restaurant on Diners, drive ins & Dives. She let me know he WAS really nice, but only to men. For some reason he was really short and rude with every single female at the restaurant and they didnβt want him to come back again. Luckily his model is to just visit once lol
@@dingfeldersmurfalot4560 Like what?
If heβs so nice then why does he make me nauseous ?
I'll just let you know right now. It sounds weird, but whoever made the menu for red chinese was a genius, and they were also high lol Everything I've had from this place is amazing, and being a native I'm very happy that we have Red Chinese. Also you don't have to be high to enjoy the food here.
When you realize that Guy Fieri has a contract to make $500,000 per episode of anything he is in on food network.
I want to see Uncle Roger try this fried rice himself.
with such a vocal fry I guess Liz can make fried rice with just rice
My favorite dinner growing up? My mom would legit make rice in the morning and then would leave it open to dry all day, then she would brown the heck out of ground beefβ¦ then add those into a big bowl. It was ground beef rice with most of the fat with itβ¦ omfg itβs amazing and I could eat it all day. The grains that match the size of the beef grounds is mind blowing. Add some ketchup and youβre in business

Guy Fieri can do no wrong, he's a national treasure
the fried rice actually looks great. i would definitely cut out the AWESOME SAUCE, and the mustard. maybe just a touch of nacho cheese sauce. i used diced Italian sausage in my fried rice before, it tasted great.
Before watching whatever twist Guy Fieri does, at first blush, cheeseburger fried rice doesn't sound that bad to me. Ground beef, egg, cheese, rice, garlic, and if you've got Japanese tastes, some ketchup....I'm almost certain there are breakfast burritos with those ingredients.
Edit: after watching, apologies to Guy Fieri, you were not to blame.
OMG...Auntie Liz' little 'hellooo' at the start of the video is soooo cute. I had to rewind a few times just to get my fill of Auntie Liz cuteness :P
A restaurant in my area used to have the best biscuits and gravy. Then Guy Fierri came into town and ate there. Before he showed up they changed the recipe, added like a pound of sausage to it. Guy loved it, I can't eat it anymore.

Id like to see them cool together and take this concept and try to make it better.
I thought American's liked mayonnaise and sugar until to went to Japan. We dont even hold a candle to that level of dedication.π They have entire mayo cafes, and nearly every dish has a sprinkle of sugar in it! I never would have dreamed of putting sugar in an egg salad sandwich before.
To be fair, Japanese Mayo is a whole other level in mayo flavor that folks on the western hemisphere don't even know about.
@@BeyondDaX Kewpie is pretty acceptable here as well. I typically keep both on hand since they definitely do have different flavor profiles.
